Ripley's Odditorium is housed in a building that has been made to look as if it is cracked wide open by an earthquake or other disaster, while the Titanic Museum is a half-scale replica of the famous ship and iceberg.īranson Landing opened in the summer of 2006 on the Lake Taneycomo waterfront in downtown Branson. Branson now draws visitors from all regions of the country and even internationally.īesides the numerous entertainment theaters for which Branson is famous, other local attractions include Hollywood Wax Museum Branson, Silver Dollar City, White Water, Mount Pleasant Winery, Curling Vine Winery, Ride the Ducks, Dolly Parton's Stampede, ziplines, cave tours, go-karts, mini golf, and more. The collection of entertainment theaters along 76 Country Boulevard (and to a lesser extent along Shepherd of the Hills Expressway), including Dolly Parton's Stampede, has increased Branson's popularity as a tourist destination. Also along the strip are the Marvel Cave, the Wild West-style Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede Dinner Attraction and Silver Dollar City, an 1800s-themed amusement park with live music.īranson has long been a popular destination for vacationers from Missouri and neighboring areas. Stark says that Michael Haygood, of the famous Haygood family, will be doing the lights for the Skyscraper. Then half way through the ride, they'll stop and you'll go backwards. So, when you're at 80 feet, you're going about 55 miles per hour going around - and you'll be pulling about 4G's as you come around the bottom, Hendrix said, So, transversely, you'll be pulling negative G's as you go around the top. Hendrix described what thrill seekers who take on the Skyscraper will actually experience. We'll have crews come in and start setting forms and pour it full of concrete and about two and a half tons of steel in it.so. They are actually, started working yesterday and they're moving along very quickly, so we're really pleased, said Starks. They tell me they've invested about more than 600-thousand-dollars in the project - and although they're the same people who brought the Ferris Wheel to Branson, this new ride has been described as a Ferris Wheel on steroids. It's called the Skyscraper - and it's being built by the owners of Track Family Fun Parks.
